Welcome on my website devoted to my own way of looking at the world through my camera.

The positive side-effect of this pandemic time is for me while working in my home-office to get in slow motion, slowly to stop the way I normally hurry up. A really new quality time achieved me and while I watch myself-changing I start to take time to observe my natural surrounding. It is definitively not new for me as a photographer to picture the nature where ever I am. But it is very new to stay hours silent at one place and to change into a nature photographer. Since this time I salute the high quality of excellent nature photography knowing how difficult it is. Even if mobile pics of mountain views or sunset at the lake are amazing (no doubt) the really moment of high quality is the moment for me when the kestrel and I are observing each other wondering what the other side will do next. I learned to have the agreement especially of birds and to move really very, very slow in their environment when I want to take pics of them. And so please enjoy the fascinating little world of the domestic birds here in Bavaria.

Turmfalke

Kestrel

We two had a very special moment with each other. On my way home I discovered him sitting on a highly branch at a very small country road. So I drove very slow towards him, took my camera even though very slow, wind my car window as slowly as possible downwards and started to picture him. He turned towards me, observed me and gave me the time I needed. And then he flew away.

Schwarzspecht

Black Woodpecker

This one was pretty far away from me in the forest. I couldn´t see him but heard an unknown bird singing. I tried to follow the sound and saw a movement between the trees and the ground. There he was. He must have seen me much earlier, that´s for sure but as soon as he recognized I won´t move closer to him he went on with his doing. So we both did what we had to do: He looked for larvae while I was photographing him.

 Blässhuhn

Coot

Yes, I know, a very common bird. Ordinary. And that´s probably the reason no one really looks closer to this beauty. The whole body is black but have a look at it´s head. Red eyes. Nearly scary. A white forehead and a pink beak.

Amsel

Blackbird

We two do have a very special relationship. This female blackbird lives in my garden or should I say I do live in hers? Maybe. And she is very attentive to my behavior. Now in springtime the blackbirds are very busy to collect worms and so they have to work on the ground. Pretty dangerous for them. While she´s searching her partner is quite near and alerts her about coming danger. But in the meantime both know me but do have an eye on me. You never know!
